Storage

How to make green beans

and beef stir fry

 

Please make sure to read the recipe instructions carefully to avoid mistakes.

Ingredients.

Ingredients mentioned below use standard measuring cups and spoons.

 

500g of flank steak

5 tablespoons of oil(to be used both to marinade and stir fry)

1/4 cup soy sauce

1 tablespoon of sugar

250g of green beans trimmed(you can use frozen green beans as well)

2 tablespoon of ginger-garlic paste

1/2 teaspoon of turmeric powder

1 teaspoon of red chilli flakes(increase as per your need)

1/4 cup water

Salt to season

1 tbs lime juice(optional)

 

Method

Have all the ingredients ready for the stir-fry.

Beef- the flank steak should be cut into thin long slices and against the grain.

If you are using any other cuts of beef, remove any excess fat and cut them long and against the grain.

If you have cut the beef into thicker slices, make sure to pound them between a piece of cling film.

The idea of stir-frying the beef is to cook them fast over high heat but still cook them thoroughly if you cut the beef slices too thick this will not happen.

 

Marinating the beef

Place the slices of beef in a bowl, combine oil(2 tbs), soy sauce(1/4 cup), sugar(1 tbs)together.

Mix until sugar is dissolved, pour into the bowl and combine well with the beef. leave the beef to marinate for 30 minutes.

 

How to make the beef

Place a skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
 
Add the beef with the marinade into the wok and cook the beef.
 
 
Toss the beef around until all-natural juice and the marinade evaporates, then reduce heat and cook the beef until slightly brown. (5-7 minutes)

Make sure to toss the beef around so they don’t stick to the pan, once the beef is slightly crispy transfer it to a plate.

 

Place the same pan over low medium heat, pour in the oil(3 tbs), add the trimmed green beans(frozen green can be used as well, 250g) with the ginger-garlic paste(2 tbs) and stir fry for a few minutes(2-3 minutes)

Once the green beans are semi-cooked, add the beef to the wok.beef added to the green beans.

 

 

Add turmeric(1/2 tsp), red chilli flakes(1 tsp), salt to season and 1/4 cup water to the pan. cook over low medium heat while stirring the ingredient.

 

Cover with a lid and cook for 5-7 minutes, until water is reduced forming a thick sauce at the bottom, continue to toss and cook until the sauce coats the beef and green beans.adding chilli flakes and turmeric to the beef stir fry.

 

 

Taste and season with salt if necessary and add a dash of lime juice to bring all the flavors together.

Serve warm with any of the meal options given above.
