Dear Blog,

I’ve missed you, yes, I know it’s been almost a week since my last chat, love the family, I’ve told you a million times, they’re a blessing but sometimes, they talk my ears off, not complaining but honestly, they seem to think I have all the answers tucked somewhere in my gray matter, it doesn’t help that funny guy says,”ask mama”.

Sometimes, I’m forever grateful to Google.

The only time I think out loud is with you, I enjoy the fact that you don’t respond to me, you don’t whine and for once, let me do the whining. like me, you seem to enjoy the silence with only the tap, tap sound of the keyboard. It’s soothing isn’t it?

All you ask of me is to cook, take pretty pictures and write. I really don’t mind the times you’ve asked me to drop a whole paragraph because you think the world is not ready for that type of honesty, in fact, you’ve managed to keep my sanity intact when I suddenly feel the urge, to stomp my foot, plonk myself on the ground and say”enough is enough”(it seems to work for little miss fussy).

Bloggy, last week was a tough one, all I did was keep an eye on the calendar wishing it was Friday and thinking,”let it be”while in reality, it was still Wednesday Morning.

When the kids were dropping glasses all over the place, three to be exact, including my favorite coffee cup. I should have guessed it was a premonition of things to come. Now I’m not giving excuses for neglecting you but I was a driving Zombie, I switched from all manual to Auto, cook, clean, drive, wash, drive, talk, nod, smile. Did you notice there’s no sleep in there?

The week begin with me waking up to drive her(15)to go on a school trip at 3.00 a.m and pick up at 11.30 p.m, I’m not going to complain about the drive because I had the road all to myself and I floored it. But alas, that was the beginning and the end of a good day, in between the drives, it was back to life where every half an hour, I was tempted to lean on the wall and have a power nap.

The following day, wasn’t any better, at 4.00 am, he(10) finds out all his color pencils are missing and needs it for his exams, suffice to say there was a lot of crying and “help me mama, please”.

In a house of four kids you expect to find them scattered about the house and we did but he had to have Maroon and it was just my luck that we couldn’t find one.

So there I was driving at a time when even the birds were asleep to the 24-hour open store for a box of color pencils with Maroon and the day ended up just like the previous one.

Wednesday turned out to be the worst, one of the school transport vans decided, there’s too much vehicles clogging up the road leading to our home and he just couldn’t waste time stuck just two minutes away from us. Do you know what that means?

I’ll be doing the forty-five minute drive, back and forth. Now how am I to fit a Ninety minute drive into my schedule?

I’m literally having sleepless nights. I’m going to try begging him(the driver) to take my girl for just another six more months, pray for me it works. I’m sure he has a heart somewhere in him.

I’ve also received a few looks, the one’s that start from your head to foot, asking, “lady did you even brush your teeth this morning(of course I did), all I would like to say is,”walk in my flip-flops”.

So, thank you for your patience, you’re a great listener and I promise to keep my weekly chats with you as best as I can.

Here’s wishing a happy Monday and blessed trouble-free week but if you do, keep in mind,” this day too shall past”, happy Monday everyone, chin up, pray and smile in the face of difficulty.

Dedicated to everyone whose had a lousy week past.

Great post, as always. I'm starting to really enjoy my Sunday nights because I get to read your "Monday" post. (Aren't time zones fun?) And it IS great that we have our little blogs where we can ramble on about the things that are annoying us. It keeps me sane. If my family and friends only understood how getting to write out my angst is the thing that allows me to be nice to them when they don't deserve it, they would beg me to blog all the time... ;)
