Cheese stuffed french toasts in 30 minutes.

Cheese stuffed french toast is a quick, fun breakfast you can make for yourself or make two trays of yummy toasties in 30 minutes for the family. It’s a cheesy crunchy combo you just might get addicted to.

How are you liking the Breakfast recipes so far?

You might have noticed that the usual Pancakes and waffles are missing, I’ll not be adding them for now as I want to try and introduce you to other options first.

Before we move on to our french toasts, here are the breakfast dishes we’ve made so far,

  1. Lunumiris– a sambal you can apply on toast for a spicy breakfast on the go.
  2. Kiribath(milk rice)– It’s a Sri Lankan breakfast you can try on weekends.
  3. Net Pancakes( roti Jala)– a Malaysian snack that makes a good Breakfast as well.

BREAKFAST IDEA 4 – CHEESE STUFFED FRENCH TOASTS IN 30 MINUTES.

You won’t regret making these french toasts, not only are they very cheesy but you can actually dish out 24 sandwiches in thirty minutes!! or maybe more if you are quick enough.

We all agree that a tray full of cheesy french toast is the best thing to wake up to!

Don’t forget to get the kids involved, I had each one working on different tasks, swirling butter on a skillet, shredding cheese, spreading butter on bread and the littlest one making sure there weren’t any sneaky hands snatching any toasties.

And NO!, this is not why I was able to get them done in 30 minutes.

It also goes on to my list of emergency meals the kids can make when and if I fall sick, just let the older kids handle the stove. There might be a few arguments but at least no one goes hungry.

Does it really take 30 minutes, especially when you are making for a family of six?

Yes and not because I have multiple hands helping me, this is how I get a whole lot of cheese toasties done under 30 minutes in just three steps,

  1. Get all the ingredients in one place with the cheese ready if you are shredding it.
  2. Have two large baking trays ready.
  3. Place the bread slices on them, now butter all of them at once, use cheddar slices or shred a block of cheddar cheese like I did. Once the sandwiches are ready it’s a matter of dipping and toasting them in one go.

How to make the perfect crunchy french toast?

If you are looking for a good crunch make sure to serve them while they are still warm.

Do not, I repeat, do not over soak the sandwiches in the egg dip, a quick dip on both sides is all you need but for a really good crunch while you bite into them, toast the sandwiches until they turn a darker brown.

Please make sure to read the recipe at least once to avoid mistakes.

RECIPE- 30 MINUTE CHEESE FRENCH TOAST.

For 5 servings –  24 slices of bread

for 3 servings  –  12 slices of bread

Ingredients

12 slices of bread

Butter

6 cheddar cheese slices or 1 cup of shredded cheese

1/3 cup of milk

2 large egg

1 teaspoon of Vanilla extract

2 teaspoon of Sugar

1 teaspoon of chilli flecks(optional)

Method

Place the slices of bread on a tray and spread the butter on the side facing up.

Add the slice of cheese or layer the bread with shredded cheese evenly.

Place another slice of buttered bread on top of the cheese and gently press in to seal the sandwich.

In a bowl beat the egg lightly with milk, Sugar and vanilla.

Meanwhile, place a skillet on low fire and swirl a teaspoon of butter so it coats the pan completely, quickly dip both sides of the sandwich in the egg mixture. Do not dip the sandwich too long in the egg and oversoak it.

Place the sandwich into the buttered skillet and cook until both sides turn brown. this should take 1 to 2 minutes on both sides. The choice of how long you want to toast them is yours to make, I prefer mine to be extra toastie for an extra crunch. Serve while it’s still warm.
