BEANS CURRY(SRI LANKAN GREEN BEANS RECIPE)

Beans curry, a flavorful and aromatic curry made with tender green beans cooked in creamy coconut milk.

This simple vegetarian curry features vibrant flavours of curry leaves, turmeric powder, cumin powder and pepper powder creating a very traditional Sri Lankan bean curry to pair with your daily rice and curry menus.

This vegan green bean(bonchi)curry just needs 6 ingredients to make and can be cooked in under 20 minutes.

Despite the simplicity of the dish, you’ll be surprised how good this vegan curry tastes.

Sri Lankan green bean curry.

  Please make sure to read the recipe instructions carefully to avoid mistakes

IngredientsIngredients mentioned below use standard measuring cups and spoons

3 Tablespoons oil

1 large onion sliced fine

1/2 a piece of cinnamon

500g Green beans

1 Teaspoon Cumin Powder

1 teaspoon of ground Pepper

Method

Pinch the ends of the beans and remove the string that runs on both sides of the bean. cut the beans to the required size.

Over medium heat, cook the sliced onion with cinnamon until onions turn translucent.

Add the Beans, cook on over medium heat for 5 minutes. once the beans are semi-cooked add the Cumin, pepper.

Reduce heat to low and cook for a further 15 minutes. before removing the pan from the fire add salt to taste. You also have the option of adding 1/2 cup of coconut milk to give the beans extra creaminess.
